Friends of Christ Community Church—past and present—are invited to participate in two services of remembrance as we bid farewell to our former church buildings where we worshiped and served the Lord for many years. These services are part of the motion passed unanimously at the congregational meeting on February 21, 2021, when the two churches voted to get “married.”

SERVICE OF REMEMBRANCE AT THE ZION MYERSTOWN CHURCH

On Sunday, October 17, we will gather in Zinn Commons at the seminary for our monthly Sunday lunch right after the morning worship service. We will then drive or walk over to the Zion E.C. Church facility (25 S. College Street, Myerstown) and begin our service of remembrance at 2:00 p.m.

SERVICE OF REMEMBRANCE AT THE FIRST LEBANON CHURCH

On Sunday, November 21, we will gather in Zinn Commons at the seminary for our monthly Sunday lunch right after the morning worship service. We will then drive to the First Lebanon E.C. Church facility (607 Chestnut Street, Lebanon, PA) and begin our service of remembrance at 2:00 p.m.

In both services, we will share stories and remembrances of God’s wonderful activity among us in days gone by, as well as his unshakable faithfulness to us over the years. We will also pray for the Christian ministries moving into these facilities (which is itself a major answer to prayer)—that God would continue to use these spaces for his kingdom’s purposes. Finally, we will step into the future that God has for us together, determined to “Love God, Serve Others, and Inspire Hope” as Christ Community Church.

Past and present friends, members, attendees, clergy, and staff of both churches who can joyfully and respectfully celebrate our past ministries and our new mission as Christ Community Church are welcome to attend. We hope to see you there. And if you don’t have a church home, you are welcome to join us for worship at Christ Community Church as you are able.
